Jejenism

            

        Jejenism is being a jejemon. Jejemon is a newest trend pop culture phenomenon in the Philippines. Jejemons are defined by Urban Dictionary as those who has managed to subvert the English language to the point of incomprehensibility and online lynch squads.  A Jejemon is described as one of a new breed of hipsters who have developed not only their own language and written text but also their own sub-culture and fashion.

                                              

            According to Wikipedia, the origins of short-handed typing was through the short messaging service, in which each text message is limited to 160 characters. As a result, an SMS language developed in which words were shortened in order to fit the 160 character limit. Although some jejemons aren't really conserving characters instead they are lengthening it.

            Some jejemon are being influenced by their friends or their own lifestyle. Because their friends are jejemons they need to learn their culture so that they understand each other. Some people influenced by their own lifestyle, like how they chose their own fashion.

            There are common effects of jejenism or being a jejemon, like having difficulties in spelling words correctly and having wrong grammar. Because of their own language and written text some people having difficulties in communicating with them.
